Hi Andy,

When we receive an email from "Ask A Question" it is missing the persons email on the page we receive. When we click reply, the email to reply to is correct but I would like to add the persons email to the page we receive. I noticed that under "EMAIL MESSAGES ADMINISTRATION", HTML is turned on, there is no page for formatting.

How do we edit the email that is sent to us to add this information, I cannot find anything concerning this in the manual?

Thanks and regards, Peter

Hello, this should help.

https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/ecommplus/parameters.asp#ask

quote:
In Version 6.5 you can add up to 9 extra questions to the Ask a Question screen like this

askquestionparam1="Extra Param1"
askquestionrequired1=TRUE
askquestionhtml1="<select name=""ectfield"" id=""ectfield"" size=""1""><option value="""">Please Select...</option><option value=""Test 1"">Test 1</option><option value=""Test 2"">Test 2</option></select>"

askquestionparam2="Extra Param2"
askquestionrequired2=TRUE
askquestionhtml2="<select name=""ectfield"" id=""ectfield"" size=""1""><option value="""">Please Select...</option><option value=""Test 1"">Test 1</option><option value=""Test 2"">Test 2</option></select>"

askquestionparam3="Extra Param3"
askquestionrequired3=TRUE
askquestionhtml3="<select name=""ectfield"" id=""ectfield"" size=""1""><option value="""">Please Select...</option><option value=""Test 1"">Test 1</option><option value=""Test 2"">Test 2</option></select>"

From Version 6.6. this can be used in conjunction with the social media features.

Thanks for the quick reply Dave and the extra information from the customer may be useful. However this still would not solve the page layout in the email that we receive. It only now shows the added parameters (questions). What I would like is to be able to modify the email format that is sent to us and add the persons email in the body. Right now it is only available by the reply.

Best regards, Peter

Hi Peter

I think David's suggestion is to add the email as a question using the parameter listed there.

Actually, I thought you wanted the persons name. So you could address them by name.
I guess I read your post wrong.
It's an easy hack to get the email to display in the email body, but it would get overwritten by updates.

Thanks Dave and Andy,

I did an internal test and this is what I got.

PID: 380-060P - 2˝" Chef‘s Paring/Tourné Knife
Ask A Question: Peter Huebner

Hi there This is a test from Peter, please respond with a reply email.
Extra Param1: Test 1
Extra Param2: Test 2
Extra Param3: Test 3
=====================================

I suppose if I could get one of the Extra Param's to display the persons email that might be a solution, however I am not sure if this is possible or how to do it. I know if I edit the emailfriend.asp file it would get overwritten so I am really trying to stick with css editing.
