Welcome to the November edition of the Ecommerce Templates Newsletter where we announce the release of Version 6.2.4 along with other ECT related news.

Version 6.2.4 released

Although not one of our famed major releases, we decided to add some extra goodies to the 6.2.4 updater just in time for the festive season.

Here’s an overview of the great new additions available…

PayPal Payments Advanced

Dynamic shipping recalculation

Clickable quantity boxes
It is now possible to use clickable graphics to raise / lower the quantity of a product to add to cart. To use this feature you need to add this parameter to the

vsadmin/includes.asp file...

quantityupdown=TRUE

vsadmin/includes.php file...

$quantityupdown=TRUE;

Magic Toolbox features
The Magic Toolbox can now be used in conjunction with the Magic Scroll (purchased separately) thumbnail viewer. This means you can sex up your product image presentations with combinations of Magic Thumbs + Magic Scroll, Magic Zoom Plus + Magic Scroll etc. …read more

SEO Feature! - Use product name instead of product id on dynamic detail pages
You can now use the product name for dynamic product detail page links instead of the product id. So your page extension could now be prod=My-Product-Name rather than prod=prodid – this makes for cleaner looking URLs and may well help for seo purposes … read more

More new additions

• The manufacturers admin page has been completely overhauled making it quicker and easier for you to administer your store's manufacturers list.
• You can search the admin orders by tracking number
• You can have the default text in the text input field automatically removed before typing … view demo
• The SKU is now searchable in the product admin page
• You can now set the store name used in email responses. Your customers will see this as for instance... Your Store Name you@yourstore.com to enable this, you'll need the following setting in vsadmin/includes.asp - emailfromname="Your Store Name" or in vsadmin/includes.php  $emailfromname="Your Store Name";
• You can now update products on the products admin page which have a negative stock level (for when they are on back order).
• A round up of fixes from previous version.

Updaters as always are available from our updaters page - it doesn't matter which version you are currently running, you can always update to the latest and greatest without going through all previous versions first.

New Responsive Designs

Since the Summer we have added two new Responsive Designs and continue to work on new ones. If you’re not familiar with the concept you can read up on them here  but in short it's a great new way to make your site automatically adapt to mobile and portable devices. The two new designs are called Monochrome and Lifestyle.

We have also made an image slider available separately which is included in both those layouts. That can be downloaded from our downloads page.
