Welcome to the October edition of the Ecommerce Templates Newsletter where we bring further exciting news regarding the ECT Version 6.8 release and some cool new premium css layouts
ECT already supports regular Braintree Payments but we have now added further flexibility with the option of Braintree Express Payments. This gives the customer a smoother and faster checkout experience as the store shipping / billing screen is bypassed, much in the same way as with PayPal Express Checkout.
The admin orders page has seen an overhaul and is now completely css based. This has enabled us to make the orders page more mobile friendly as well as marked improvements in appearance and performance. You can also now optionally create your own admin css file, ectadmincustom.css, which means that you can customize aspects of any of the admin pages without being overwritten by updaters.
We have been working on some new css based layouts that can be dropped into existing stores with a few tweaks to the includes file. Feedback has been really positive and if you'd like to see what we have done, please visit the category here on our demo store and then view the different product and detail pages for examples of each.
You'll see that some examples use the image effects from MagicToolbox and although we can't include those in the package as they are provided by a third party, you can still get them following the examples on our Magic Toolbox help page You can also find details there of the image serving utility, Sirv which we have been using on the demos.
Updaters as always are available from our updaters page - it doesn't matter which version you are currently running, you can always update to the latest and greatest without going through all previous versions first. If you want to be informed automatically of the new features included in the updaters you can subscribe to the Updater forum - that means you'll receive an email each time a new post is added.
