Welcome to the first ECT Newsletter of 2019 and we would like to wish everyone all the best for the New Year and hope it brings everything you are hoping for. We have just released Version 7.0.3 / 6.9.6 to address the recently announced changes from authorize.net. We have also highlighted some great tips & tweaks for your ECT store and hopefully clarified the question of the benefits of using a licensed or hosted online store.
If you currently accept payments on your store via authorize.net you may have received a technical email from them in the last month regarding the phasing out of the MD5 based transHash.
ECT Versions 7.0.3 and 6.9.6 have specifically been released to address the changes here with authorize.net switching to a SHA-512 based transHashSHA2.
Once you have made the changes we recommend running through a test order to make sure everything is running smoothly
Since releasing the ECT Hosted Store last Summer one of the most common questions we are asked is what are the advantages of running a hosted store over using licensed software for download.
We offer both licensed and hosted ecommerce solutions and believe both to be a great way to set up an online store. What we suggest is looking at the key features of each, sign up for a 30 day free trial of the ECT Hosted Store and then see which best fits with how you want to proceed.

Just as no two stores are the same, the needs and preferences of users are not homogenous either. That's why we suggest giving the hosted store trial version a go and see which best suits your individual requirements.
We never cease to be amazed and gratified by ECT users who give up their time and expertise to share tips and suggestions with the rest of the community. Here are just a few of the great tips posted on our support forum by some very kind and community spirited ECT store owners
If you have any tips you would like to share, we would love to see them there!.
Updaters as always are available from our updaters page - it doesn't matter which version you are currently running, you can always update to the latest and greatest without going through all previous versions first. If you want to be informed automatically of the new features included in the updaters you can subscribe to the Updater forum - that means you'll receive an email each time a new post is added.
