When you purchase a responsive website template from ECT and it uses Megamenu how do you login to the Megamenu dashboard at Wordpress to design the menu?

Hi the responsive indoors uses a static menu that you would add links to in Wordpress under Appearances > Menu.

Hi Bob

This was a Dreamweaver based site so the menu was added through the dwt file - there's no relation to Wordpress.

Then there's no way to edit the menu design. I've spent a week just trying to center the main menu items without success. This whole responsive project has frustrated me to the point I'm forgetting the whole thing. I've designed entire websites in the time it takes to edit one simple container div. Not ECT's fault but not of any use to me. Thanks anyway for the effort.

You can probably edit it through the css file, if you'd like to let us know where you have it set up, we can take a look for you.

http://www.grabbarspecialists.com/zzz/index.php

I'm just trying to center the main megamenu menu items on the page. Home, Grab Bars, etc. I've been trying for a week now editing the css file in every imaginable way.

But this is just one of a thousand changes I need to make. Without access to the Megamenu console this is going to be impossible for me.

Then I have to change the responsive website itself and the css is a whole new language to learn and you also can't edit the site in Dreamweaver, in live view, because you need to install a local server which I spent another week trying to install without success.

Also, you cannot edit a Dreamweaver template in a sub-directory (Which the new responsive site is in) because Dreamweaver will not update the files unless they are in the root directory.

Also, the responsive template I have shrinks down the 20% columns to such a small size before changing views that they become unreadable. An adaptive type site would maybe be better as it would keep the columns at a fixed readable size before changing to a different view at the next resolution size.

So in order to customize the responsive site and megamenu, etc. you basically need to be a programmer/coder to do it. And if you have those skills then you don't need ECT templates in the first place.

So again, thanks for all the great support, but the responsive templates/menus, etc. are not going to work for me.

This may take a little trial and error on the max-width setting, but try this:

.megamenu_container {
max-width: 800px;
margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;
}

Though a different template, I use this trick to center the menu on finehomedisplays.com.

You are welcome. The trick is to get the max-width as small as possible, hence the trial and error.

I just purchased the Premium Responsive Design Styles template. I am trying to edit the top navigation menu. I assume this is the "Mega Menu"..? Currently the drop downs still show "blue sneakers, layout 1, layout 2, etc" that came with the template. How/where do I edit these drop down menus to reflect my information?

Thanks

Hi

That would be edited in the dwt file in Dreamweaver or Expression Web.
