On the site I'm on with at the moment the price shows as Price: £499.00 (£598.80 inc VAT)
On a site I completed over 12 months ago the price shows as Price: £598.80 (£499.00 excl VAT) I can't recall what needs to be done to show the full VAT inclusive price with the VAT exclusive price in brackets?

Hi Sinbad,

I thought that I had found the solution but it has made zero difference :-( It still shows the VAT inclusive price in brackets and that's not what's required. Any ideas?

Hi Steve, below are the available parameters that can be used in the vsadmin/includes.php you probably are using one of these parameters, just change the value to the one you need.

Show tax inclusive prices

To show tax exclusive price followed by the inclusive price on the products page use
$showtaxinclusive=1;
the wording for the tax can be changed in vsadmin/inc/languagefile_en.php.

From version 5.4 to only show tax inclusive price, set

$showtaxinclusive=2;

From version 6.3 if the tax is already assumed to be included in the product price, set

$showtaxinclusive=3;

I was wondering about this.
I currently use $showtaxinclusive=3 but I would like to show both inc and excl vat prices but the other way round from the default $showtaxinclusive=1 of excl followed by inc.
Mainly because most customers will be subject to the VAT so it makes sense to make the inc value the main focus with the excl value available for those that are exempt.

I did try using the extra currency field and that as found in
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=104958&SearchTerms=VAT
which basically worked really well but but it fell down for me on products that are VAT exempt.

Those are the three options currently available so maybe best to choose the one that best suits the store / products as a whole.
