We get a good number of orders that must be edited for various reasons. Sometimes it's fixing an address, others it's the customer needing some changes.
Currently, we must click the edit at the bottom of the list of orders, then click the order. After edit, we must go back to the drop down and change to view, then go back into the order view to confirm our changes and send the customer a new receipt and-or reprint the paperwork.
This could be streamlined greatly if we just had an edit button right on the customers order details, much like the new buttons to print. (I have manually added this functionality to my store and it's great) But then, after the edit, we 99.9% of the time, want to view those changes. So we have to jump through hoops to get back to the order in "view" mode. It would be great if when you edit an order, and update, you go right back to the order in the view mode so you can see that.
No matter what I do, I cannot get this to happen with my amazing shade-tree hacking skills. I tried changing the action of the form, but it does not work. It forces back to the view all orders view no matter what. And then, the drop down is stuck on edit, so we have to set that back to view order details. When we edit an order, it's just that order and we are not editing multiple orders. So it would be nice if that drop down reverted back to view order details after the edit.
I expect that many users, after edit, want to get back to the details of that edited order more often than not. Please consider adding that. Maybe two update buttons. One that is the normal update, and next to it, an "update and view" button that will take you right back to the order details where we can carry out the rest of the process of editing the order, such as sending an updated email receipt. Please consider adding an edit button there on the order details view as well. This way, as soon as you see an edit is needed, you can just (one) click and edit to your hearts content.
