Hi all,

Just updated my Firefox to te latest update and it's the new Forefox Quantum.

The Admin pages used to display the top menu across the screen in a horizontal row:
Store Admin - Orders Admin - Product Admin - Shipping Admin

In the new Firefox, they now display vertical and take up over an inch of space:
Store Admin
Orders Admin
Product Admin (part of the sub-menu is covered on hover)
Shipping Admin

At first I thought the browser window was too small but they stay like that no matter how big the window is.

I'm on ver 6.8.0, getting ready to update to 6.8.1.

Hi Julie

I'll take a look for you and report back. Thanks for the screenshots as they help a lot.

Same here, the admin is a real dogs dinner in Firefox Quantum. I shall have to checkout other admins that I login to to see if all is well with those too!

Indeed, after the Firefox update, the menus are now showing like the example above AND you cannot get to all of the dropdown menu items as they are covered up by the top level links. Bad, bad, bad. I have tried mingling with the browser settings with no luck.

Just to let you know, we are still working on a cross browser fix here.

Well, after going around the building yesterday and changing (numerous computers) firefox settings to never install updates, today most of them updated to the quantum.

I know we can use chrome, but what I did was in my ectadmincustom.css file, I added
#admin_menu { display: none;}
to hide the menu.

Others may want to use this if you are on the 6.8.1
I think all links in the admin are available there on the dashboard, so I think I may leave it for a while.
Often the menu is accidentally triggered when navigating the admin.

Yeah, I was too late to stop Firefox Quantum as well.
I'm still running version 6.7.1 and it looks just like what Julie posted. So this isn't just a version 6.8.x problem.

I hope this gets remedied soon. The admin responds super fast in FF Quantum. I used to get a bit of a lag when editing products and a lag after hitting submit. That seems to be gone and it all runs really smooth. I think I like this Quantum.

Hey Andy... do you think while you are reworking that admin menu... is it possible to make it open upon a click rather a hover (maybe as an option setting)? Or a css setting that we can change if we want to stop the hover? If not, no worries. Just thought I would put it out there.

In Firefox Quantum => Alt Key => Help => Submit Feedback ...

Report that their CSS rendering is NFG

Hi All
I've found the problem that was causing this and it seems to be down to some attribute selectors that had a tab before the attribute value. I think this is valid syntax and doesn't seem to have been a problem before or in any other browser, but it's an easy change and I'll get an updated vsadmin/adminstyle.css in the updater asap.

Hi All
The changes are now in the v6.7 and v6.8 updaters. The file you need to update for this problem is...
vsadmin/adminstyle.css

So, just to be clear - we need to download a new copy of either version 6.7.3 or 6.8.2 - but we only need to upload the vsadmin/adminstyle.css -- or should we apply the full updaters?

On the Updater page, it shows that version 6.8.2 was updated 1 day ago, but version 6.7.3 was updated 25 days ago - does that mean that the 6.7.3 version does not have the css update yet?

Thanks!

We always advise applying the updater fully if possible but the fix for Firefox Quantum is only in adminstyle.css and both 6.7 and 6.8 include the new css file.
