I have setup up a Pay Your Bill / Invoice page based on the Donations page feature. It works absolutely fine.

What I would like to achieve is how do I make a pre-configured message appear in the message field that briefly explains to the customer what to put in the message field that, also once clicked in the message field, clears the pre-configured text?

Hi Steve, what your describing would be place holder text and I'm afraid that's not available you would have to customize the code in incspecials which would be overwritten when updating and need to be put back. To customize you would add placeholder as shown here https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_input_placeholder.asp to the textarea in incspecials around line 239
