It would be nice to have the ability to offer customers that have purchase digital downloads the ability to log into their account and download / re-download their order(s).

It would also be nice that this feature could be turned on or off if the company would rather the customer to contact them if they want to have access to the orders.

Using ECT since 2003.

I have been asking for this option for years!!! My site has evolved to only selling digital painting patterns in pdf format, and I'm routinely asked by customers to resend them the links for their downloads for various reasons. Please add this to your list of updates. Many sites that offer digital downloads offer this type of link in the customer's account.

Good idea. And if you update contents of the download.zip file (without changing filename) the client would be able to obtain latest version by Logging In.

This already exists, we've had it in ASP for over 10 years (it's getting updated at the moment to bring it up to date a bit to work with the most recent ECT versions and add new features) and we recently added a PHP version. It adds a section to the client account area like the screenshot here, and optionally can appear on the invoice page and/or offer alternate file types if appropriate (as shown).

sharonchinn is wise enough to host her site with us so I can put it in her site for her to try this week and she can maybe report back here with her comments.

The suggestion is to make that a stock standard feature, not an Add-On.

I'd prefer a switch in the includes to enable/disable the feature though.

I could so much use this. Great idea.

I host with ServeLink, and Peter has kindly installed this mod on my site. Looks like it's just what I've been asking ETC support to do for several years. Yes, it would be great if this option were built into ECT so I wouldn't have to worry about updates, but for now, I'm grateful to ServeLink for offering this solution. I expect it to save me customer service time since 99% of my sales are digital products. Customers can log in to their store account and access the links to download their digital products right in their control panel.

I just announced this improvement in a customer newsletter yesterday, so I'll give it some time to see if it I get any relief from repeatedly emailing download links to customers who can't find their confirmation email, can't copy and paste a link, or have lost their past downloads due to a computer crash.
