When I add gift wrap to the cart it all works fine but I also get the following message:

'The product Gift Wrapping has been deleted from the product catalog'

I'm not seeing that here on testing - when do you get the message and you don't have a product called gift wrap or similar on the store do you?

Yes, I did have a hidden product/category for gift wrap

I've just changed the names to exactly the same as the error message and it has gone.
Should I simply delete the hidden Gift Wrap product and category entirely?

If you're not using it I guess you might as well delete it.
