Having a bit of a nightmare with my host support at present and hoping someone can shed some light.
Everything working fine yesterday with all sites on PHP 5.6
Had an upgrade overnight to EasyApache4 and apache 2.4 and of 3 ECT sites 1 is not working with an error message of:

Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in /home/xxxxx/public_html/vsadmin/db_conn_open.php on line 14

I can see in admin that the site that's not working is reporting that it's now on PHP 5.4 whilst the others are 5.6!
I suspect this is the problem but my host claim they've tried 5.6 and that didn't work either.

Any thoughts that I can report back to them gratefully received...

The cart does require a minimum of 5.6 so I think it's just a case of insisting that the version needs updating - you can tell then you have spoken to the developers and they have confirmed it's 5.6 minimum with many sites these days on PHP 7.0 or 7.1.

Guess what. It works with php 5.6 - just like it did yesterday...

In case anyone else has similar issues, this problem was resolved by enabling PHP-FPM after upgrading to EasyApache4 / v2.8 apache and enabling php 5.6.
