When logging in to the admin page we frequently get the one of the following errors when opening admin.asp:

Active Server Pages error
'ASP 0241'
CreateObject Exception
/vsadmin/ajaxservice.asp
The CreateObject of '(null)'
caused an exception C0000005

or,

Active Server Pages error
'ASP 0240'
/vsadmin/ajaxservice.asp
A ScriptEngine threw exception 'C0000005' in
'lActiveScript::SetScriptState()' from
'CActiveScriptEngine::ReuseEngine()'

This doesn't happen all the time, perhaps 1 out of 7 or 8 times.
Host insists it's being caused by our software. They suggest it could be the result of a script reusing a recordset object several times without closing it between database calls. I've checked all of our code for this but not the store software. Could the store software be reusing recordsets without closing them?

Hi

It's not something I remember coming up before so it doesn't appear to be a general problem. Have you made any custom edits to the admin files or database?

We have not made any changes to the admin files.
We recently updated to version 6.7.3 but the problem remains.
We do have a script that registers new members to our organization by inserting them into the customerlogin table.
We have been doing this for 4 years without any previous problems.

The store is running off an Access database, correct? If so have you tried a "compact & repair"?

Hi Gary, has there been any changes to the site recently, have you tried uploading the vsadmin/ajaxservice.asp again to the server?

Andy, we have an Access database, compact and repair didn't fix it.
We had the same problem before we upgraded to 6.7.3 which I assume would have uploaded a new copy of ajaxservice.asp.

Could both of you send me the site FTP login details to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com) and I'll have a look at what is going on.

GaryL, no progress yet. Our host and ECT are still pointing fingers at each other, the only option we have come up with is to change hosts, and that will be painful for us.
