My website host, Hostek, helped me to update my php to 5.4 on the following 3 sites:
www.seamineralsolutions.com
www.clickforencouragement.com
www.zoetechhealth.com

Once this was done, the sites would not open.
I asked for Hostek to help me, and they replied:

"I renamed each .htaccess file to .htaccess_bak in the root directory of the 3 domains and they are all loading correctly. To alter your PHP settings in code, add a php.ini file to the root directory and change your PHP settings there.

So I guess to take care of this issue, I need to rename each .htaccess file, then add a php.ini file to the root directory. Will simply installing the latest updater take care of this for me? I know I will need to change to a newer php version for this update.

Thanks.
Paul

Hi Paul

I guess it all depends on what you had in your .htaccess file and what you were asked to add to the php.ini file - normally having a .htaccess file is fine but it depends on its contents.

Hi Paul, I just checked the sites and on your server, the sites are loading the only thing is click for encouragement.com is showing the date warning. I have fixed that for you now, by adding date_default_timezone_set('UTC'); to the includes. Please backup the clickforencouragement DOT com/vsadmin/includes.php so that you have the change.
