Hello!

Wondering if there's a way to display the category image and description on the actual category page?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Sure that is possible. You just need to enter the path to the image in the category admin page along with the category description. The second screen shot here shows the fields https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/category.asp

Are there parameters that I need to add to the includes? I'm seeing the cat image on the "products" page along with the description but would also like them both to appear on the category page as well below the breadcrumbs if possible.

Are you talking about adding a category image and description to products.php - if so, those can go in the category header field.

Nope, I'm talking about adding them to the actual category page. I did a screenshot of a demo page on where I would like it placed...

That is the products.php page and you can add the image and description to the category header field.

I hate to be so ignorant but would I then need to use the "customheaders" in the includes file to have them appear that are shown on this page?

I have the cat img and description in the category in the admin area and it DOES appear on the "browse by categories" section but If I click on a category on my site and it lists all the products the image does not appear on the top of the page with the description beside it.

You don't need anything in includes.php - make sure you have added the description in the Category Header field and that the category is one that has products associated with it, not categories.

Here's an example, this is a products page http://www.ectdemostore.com/magic-toolbox.asp

and in the admin

http://www.ectdemostore.com/vsadmin/login.asp
User: mystore
Password: changeme

You can go to the category admin page, click on Modify for the Magic Toolbox category and see the set up.

OMG, thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So simple, so overlooked on my part! It really helped you sending me the darn admin demo!

I would never be able to deal with people the way you do!
