Am I required to download this dev kit just to enter an existing ups account?

What is the integration from ECT to UPS? Maybe I have incorrect expectations?

Hi JB, you do not need to download anything the registration is already built in, at what point in the registration are you seeing that did you agree to the license? did you get as far as inputting your information?

None of this makes much sense.

What license?

I get this:
UPS Developer Kit Licensing & Registration Wizard - Error

There is no account number, you cant get an account number through ECT. or from UPS. UPS only provides a username and password or what they call a Profile, after this you have to add a pay account, after this you can get an account number.

Nothing that is referred to is familiar or can be found or located in the documentation that has been linked or on the admin pages.

Go to the main settings and setup UPS from the drop down???
Did that, what did that do?
Do I have to use some other UPS application to ship with?

There is no place to setup an account. Just a page to download a developer kit. If I don't have to download anything, what is the point of the developer kit?

Sends me to a page to download and setup for the UPS Dev kit. Not to setup an account????

The error when I checkout on my cart page is:

Im already registered,,, there I no place to go through any UPS registration process though ECT... There isn't..


This next error as I read it???... I have to setup an account on UPS Website since I cant do it through ECT... Once I have setup an account... I have to fake ship something by spending real money so that I can get an invoice and use this invoice info for the below required information before I can move on to the next step? Is this really how this is works?

UPS wizard is non functional.

You sent me on your control panel login details but I can't go through the UPS form for you as I don't have any of your details.

The account number is optional in the form in the ECT shipping admin - what do you get if you complete the form without the account number?

Hi Andy,

When I was going through the UPS wizard, and when getting to the page where it request a past invoice for use with negotiated rates. I cleared cach, reboot, etc... still had same error below:

I setup two different profiles along with payment accounts for them... This is now how you setup a UPS account online. Profile first, then payment account. I verified speaking with UPS support on the phone.

I attempted to use these account numbers and even tried NOT using these account numbers. I have a total of three UPS accounts none were working.

I have just tried again, same process, same account number, left the negotiated rate page blank as before and now it registered.

As glad as I am to see it made it through the setup I would like to know why it wasn't working yesterday or other times I have tried? I hope it was something I was doing incorrectly... however I repeated the process for about 8 hours filling in the forms with every combination I could think of.

At this point I have no idea why it worked and yesterday it didn't. Unless UPS had some connectivity issues?
