Hello we just updated the store but we get the following error message

Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in /home/content/79/8558879/html/vsadmin/db_conn_open.php on line 41

What can we do to eliminate this message? I had the HOST Provider upgrade the PHP to 5.6 as 5.5 and below do not work with this version of the cart.
