I have some customers that are trying to create an account through my website and using a combination of letters, numbers and symbols for their password but get a pop up error message saying they can't use spaces or certain characters.

Do we know what we can and can't use for password symbols?

I just tried this myself using mgruy$@#%& and got the same error.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hi Patrick

The password is alphanumeric characters only so no symbols or spaces are allowed.

I would like to make this mention (No symbols or spaces) for a new customer entering their password.

How do I go about doing that?

I think the only way to do that is to add the comment to an existing text entry. Copying it to includes.php means it won't be overwritten by updater.

How should it be put in the includes.php file?

For example if you wanted to add the text to the Password text entry you would add this to includes.php

$xxPwd="Password <br>Alphanumeric Only";

...but maybe the password field should accept special characters? While the potential damage from a password compromise is fairly limited here, I don't see that encouraging people to set weak passwords is a good thing.
