ASP to Wordpress

Posted - 05/25/2018 : 06:02:47 Hi Guys, I'm thinking about changing my site to a wordpress ( currently using ASP) Just a few questions: My database is mysql, will that be able to be imported? Does the vanilla wp cart come with any css files or does all the styling come from the wp theme? Andy ECT Moderator 95440 Posts	Posted - 05/25/2018 : 06:16:20 Hi Ross The database is mySQL but your pages and admin all use ASP pages so there would be a migration required - it might be worth contacting Phil on the developers page to see what might be needed there. The styling would come from the theme you were using but you can use your existing css file for as a starting point for product / detail layouts and of course the ectcart file will stay the same. I'm not sure there are any specific traps but remember to use GLOBALS in the includes.php file and keep your wordpress installation and plugins updated. MySQL up to 5.7 / MariaDB 10.2 is also tried and tested, we haven't tried MySQL 8 in production yet.
