I have been using the loyalty points feature on my site for some time and I would like to end this soon, but I'm not sure about the best way to do this. As far as I can see if I set the site to stop issuing points it is no longer possible for customers to redeem points already earned which is not ideal. Is there any way to stop issuing points on new orders but allow customers to use their existing points for a period of time?

That's a good question and I can't see an fair way of doing that for your customers other than posting a notice on your site that the feature will expire on a particular date.
