I have found a YouTube video that easily walks you through changing the order number if you use an Access database. I used it and it works well and is fairly easy. I strongly suggest you make 2 backups of your database: one as an actual backup and one to do the changes. And practice a couple of times using this method so you are comfortable.

It will take maybe 10 minutes so you need to do it when you know/think there will be no orders for, when you upload the database, it will erase any new orders. That all said, I hope this is helpful.
