Back story. I was deleting about 2,500 old "custom" products from a site based on date added. Using the Quick Entry and sorting by Date Added Ascending, "permanent" products that should not be deleted where in the mix so I had to look as every line before ticking the checkbox. Gladly I did not delete anything by mistake, but it got me to think that a "delete lock" that would disable the checkbox for bulk actions as well as the delete "X" would help preventing accidental deletions as well as making bulk deleting faster.
I see this as an option in the product's admin page along with the No Free Shipping, No Handling Charge, etc, options. By selecting it, the 2 delete functions would be disabled. I do not know how many people may have accidentally deleted a product as I never saw this mentioned before. But basically, I see this as a convenient safety feature. Just a thought.
