A customer has just submitted an order on my site which included a ' character in their email address and this caused the admin orders page to crash and not load fully. Because the page didn't finish loading I couldn't edit the character. I believe the ' character is valid for use in email addresses so is it possible for this issue to be resolved?

Hi Richard

Is that an apostrophe or accent used in the email address so I can test here?

Hi Andy,

Yes, it's an apostrophe in the customers email address causing the issue on the adminorders.php page.

I've tested that on a couple of stores here, on different servers and in each case the apostrophe was removed - have you been able to test an order with an apostrophe in the email address?

Hi Andy,

I just tested this myself and I was not able to replicate the issue. I noticed that the customer paid by paypal where their email address has a dot in place of the apostrophe so I suspect this was a typo anyway. I don't know how the customer was able to do this ..hopefully it's a one-off.

When testing this I did notice another issue on the checkout page which is that when using the Chrome autofill settings to enter the address details it enters the first address line in the Additional Information box as well as the address box. I had been wondering why a lot of orders had the address repeated in the additional information box recently and now I can see why. Is this something that can be prevented?

It sounds like it probably was a one-off.

I was reading about Chrome auto-fill and it seems the developers there are pretty much against allowing it to be turned off, there used to be measures but those are being or have been removed.

I don't have a problem with autofill filling the address fields ..It's just that the first address line is being autofilled into the Additional Information box as well.
