Hi - after upgrading the admin site tosses up a 500 internal server error after logging in and password is approved.

I also none of the cart buttons work on the live site. Thoughts? I uploaded all of the files and did the updatestore.asp. Did those steps twice to ensure all the files made it. I'm stumped.

Site is lulubelletours.com

Also - I purchases the 6 month package yesterday so it should be reflected on this email. Thanks!

Hi,

If your add to cart buttons are not working it sounds like you haven't included this line on your pages that's now a requirement:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/ectcart.js"></script>

When you upgrade you are shown message letting you know this.

You can find more info on this here:

Regards,
David

For the admin problem I would ask your host to turn off friendly error messaging so you can see the error being masked by the generic 500 error message.

Hi,
You'll also need to add the following line to all your pages
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/css/ectcart.css">

* Database Migrations and Conversions*
* ASP to PHP Cart Conversions*

*Contact Us*
*Buy The PHP Capture Card Plugin*

Hi - thanks. I must have glossed over adding in the extra code. That did the trick to make the buttons activated again.

1) I tried to do a test checkout and once I got to PayPal - when I click the confirm button, paypal just thinks for a second and refreshes to the same page. No emails or money is sent.
2) I have asked the host to turn off the friendly error messages. Hopefully that is done soon.

The host doesn't want to turn off the friendly error messages but sent me this:

2018-11-11 08:46:14 73.221.252.49 500 GET /vsadmin/admin.asp |51|80004005|Could_not_use_'';_file_already_in_use. HTTP/1.1

It sounds like your database may have lost it's write permissions. Can you ask your host to check that for you?

It's an access database. I looked at the permissions and it has full read/write permissions on the server. Is there something else I should be looking for?

If the database is in a folder, check permissions on the folder itself.
Ideally, it will be a folder outside of the root.

Here is an explanation of the error right from Microsoft - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/289681/you-may-receive-a-file-already-in-use-error-message-when-you-try-to-op

Hi - it is outside the root. Double checked permissions and they all are read/write.

I have another site setup on the same server with the same settings and it works fine. I can't figure out why, after upgrading, the admin site tosses up this error.

GET /vsadmin/admin.asp |51|80004005|Could_not_use_'';_file_already_in_use. HTTP/1.1

Can you just triple check with your host that the folder where the database resides has write permissions, not just the database itself.

It all looks like it does. The host dug deeper and sent me this to check:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Could not use ''; file already in use.
/vsadmin/inc/incloginfunctions.asp, line 51

---

Is it the same issue with the database permissions?

That did come up before and was fixed for both these customers by giving the database folder write permissions

https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=110114

I'm really sure that is the problem.

I'm sure it is the issue however I'm not sure why upgrading the software would cause the problem. Also, I've checked the permissions over and over and it still doesn't resolve the issue.

Should I try using version 7.0? I'm at a loss on what to do.

I don't know why updating would cause the permissions to be lost either but it happened to the two users on that thread and that was the cause of the error they received. Could you ask your host to set the write permissions for you?

Yeah - I asked them again to check. I think this is the fifth time I've asked.

Could the database have gotten corrupted? Is there anyway to test write permissions on another file?

Server techs are basically done with me as everything indicates that the database has write permissions.

Can I put the database on another server and test it?

You could put it on another server to test, even a local server.
