I'm getting more and more frustrated with PayPal as a payment gateway. Been with them almost 16 years.

I've been talking with my business bank, Huntington, and they offer Payeezy which pretty much takes care of everything plus the payments go directly into my bank account, no transfers.

So, I'm just wondering if anyone has used that system on their Ecommerce website?

Hi Walt, I have not used that one, but I am curious what problems you have with Paypal.
For us, it's important to keep Paypal as some customers do ask for it, and want to pay that way. Perhaps they feel safer.
I will also say, on the rare occasion we have a dispute, we always fare much better when the customer paid with Paypal.

Dave,

Payeezy supports PayPal. I'm not dropping PayPal itself just for the credit card transactions. They use the same type of embedded code that PayPal does.

They do have a complete website software hosting but I don't want that.

As to why, I'm finding it harder and harder to work with them. Been with them for 20 years. They even admit there are issues. They send me emails with directions to access billing and the route they give doesn't exist. Little to no way to contact them. Plus the money sits in their system until I move it. With Payeezy it goes directly into my bank account.

An example is trying to drop the Virtual Terminal contract. There was no way to get to it easy and when there it was not clear on exactly what you were accomplishing. Finally got a tech to walk me through it. I've been using that for years and finally realize it was way over cost for what little I use it. I can do the same thing by logging into the customers account and paying the order there. Why pay $30 a month?

I'm still researching it all.

Andy, it's what my bank uses. The payments will go directly into my account. I don't have to go to a 3rd party website to transfer money. Plus the are willing to try and lower the percentage charged.

I'll test it on my testing website and see how it works first.

Hi Walt, we used to spend a fair amount of time going in and billing additional charges on customers orders too, but with this tip https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=108615 we send the customer a link and have them make payments.
With this, it saves us time, but we also never, I repeat never, take a card number from a customer.
We developed a simple script that we have on the customer order detains in the back end that we can plug in any amount and generate that link to send the customer.
It works really well and again, put some of the work back on the customer while absolving us from risk of handling their card numbers.

Paypal also have some new tools to automatically move funds to your bank account. But we also use the Paypal debit card to pay some bills. Taking advantage of some nice cash back every month from them. This helps offset our fees and with that, making it a better deal on payment processing than any other processor we have seen.

Paypal makes your funds available to spend right away without having to wait until funds are moved to a bank account.
In the end, as you can see, we like them.

Hi, Dave,

Thanks, I'll look into that. Phil at Betterpages has done most of my website work but probably time I learn the new responsive design system. Just need to find some time is the big thing.

Thanks,

Walt
