Rather than generating on the fly html Receipts, Email Receipts, Invoices and Packing lists each and very time it would be much better, easier, simpler and good practice for record keeping, if PDF Invoice and Packing Lists were generated as an option.
It is easier for customers to see and handle PDF files and print if required knowing they will look exactly like they should and will print properly.
Easy to email as an attachment and not worry about how it will display on the numerous email clients out there.
It is good practice to have a more permanent record of Invoices and Pack Lists.
Makes it extremely simple to import or attach pdf files to courier systems when the destination requires.

The PDF libraries already exist and are very easy to implement.

We sometimes print to PDF with a PDF printer driver, but as much as I like to disagree with John M, I have to say I like this one.
Even a PDF option for customer at checkout and in the client account and order status page would be cool.

Any movement on this? I constantly get asked for receipts via email. The best I can do is a screenshot jpg or re-send the order status email. A PDF option would come in very handy.

Tim, Just send them to your order status page where they can get a printable copy.

While we would like a PDF capability for our store too, it's easy to send customers to the order status page where they can get a copy. Basically it works like the thanks page.

For what its worth, I would still like to see this become available in the future. You know how lazy some of these customers can be.
