Out client has a 4.5 lb freezer box for shipping perishable products ... can the box weight be used in shipping calculations, and if so how? Because the cost of shipping the order needs to include the weight of the box in calculating the shipping price via USPS.

And if the order requires a 2nd box, would the weight of that box also be included in the shipping calculations?

Hi, you can set a parameter for initial box weight

Set the initial box weight. (Minimum version 6.0.3)

If you want to set the initial weight of your shipping box / packaging, set the following

$initialpackweight=2.5;

---

It will apply to all boxes added into the shipping calculations.
The way I do it is apply an average box weight there.
