configuring the template

I don't want customers to have to login as this deters customers - is there a guest login? Or can we remove it completely? Gift Certificates - can this be temporarily disabled - I will want to enable it at a later date when I'm a bit more organised? Shipping - How do I set up that shopping baskets totalling £99 or less a £3.50 shipping is applied and £100 or more is free? Is there an idiots guide anywhere where I know exactly which bits of php coding I copy into my dreamweaver templates and then what I save the pages as? Thank you.

They said they'd removed the varnish cache but then hadn't done it really! Such fun. But now i'm getting updates instantaneously once I press refresh as I'd expect. Thank you for all your help.
