When creating an option, the Option Language 2 field is cleared off after submitting. To temporarily working around, I have to use CSV Option Data Utility from 100 Markets to import the Option Language 2 (optName2), and this is very inconvenient.

Any one has experienced this problem before, please give me a help.

Thank you

It seems that the adminprodopts.php erases and refuses to write into database all contents in Option Language 2 when submitting. I did open the database with mhpMyAdmin to add the contents into optName2 field.

Hi Timothy

I just tested that here and the text was saved for me. Is it just the options doing this - no other second language fields or any other fields in the product option admin page?

I am glad to hear that it is OK when you tested. It means I did something wrong here, and need to find out.

The store version is php V7.0.3. On main settings, I have 2 languages (English and Italian), and Language settings include Product Name, Description, Long Description, Option Name, Option Choices, Category Name, Category Description, Category Header, Discount Text, Category URL.

On product option admin page, I choose Multiple Purchase, Force Selection, and Single Line. By setting 2 languages, the Option page adds two fields: Option Name 2 and Options Language 2. The remaining fields are standard of familiar option fields.

I fill texts on Option Name, Option Name 2, Options/Values, and Option Language 2. On submitting and reopen the option again to check, just the text on Options Language 2 was cleared off, blank, and not written into database.

I discover another thing. For options with Options Language 2 successfully made by CSV import utility or phpMyAdmin, they are good in displaying in store page. Open the option in option admin page, I can see the values in Option Language 2. However, when click submit and open it, the values disappear. The submit button cleared off any values in Option Language 2.

It's very strange !

Open the main settings, set the number of store languages to 3 with third language as French. The option admin page adds Options Language 3 under the drop down of Options Language 2. Fill out both Languages 2 and 3. Upon submitting, the Options Language 2 is cleared off, but Options Language 3 is OK, and still there.

Check the database, the optName2 field is null as the value is erased during submitting, and the optName3 has its value written.

If you have access to phpmyadmin can you compare the entries for Option language 2 and 3 to see if you can see any differences?

I did not see any difference. optName, optName2, and optName3 are all the same format (Type: varchar(255), Collation: latin1_swedish_ci, Null: Yes, Default: Null). These are created by createdb.php.

The problem is really hard to troubleshoot, given optName2 is trouble, and optName3 is strangely not. The second language feature of ECT is so beautiful, but this problem would create a real hassle down on the road.

It is a very odd problem. If you'd like to send me an email with the phpmyadmin link and login, I'll take a look for you.
