I applied the 7.0.4 updater this morning and everything seemed to be working fine. However my website is suddenly showing a 500 Internal Server Error.

I went back to /updatestore.asp and clicked Submit again, hoping might would fix it. The next page displays

"Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server error '80040e14'

Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'DEFAULT'.

/updatestore.asp, line 1124"

Any suggestions on how to repair this?

Hi

Do you get the same error on your site if you don't show friendly error messages https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/troubleshooting.asp#asp11

I am hosting with Sevelink. My web.config file is very different from the information on the page you linked to there.

I logged into my Control Panel and ran the Failed Request Tracing utility. No Items were found.

I downloaded my Webconfig file and added the line

"<httpErrors errorMode="Detailed" />".

I am not getting the Friendly error message any longer. I am now getting a generic 500 error page.

"500 Internal Error
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."

This is the help file for Servelink to show the errors rather than the generic 550 message https://servelink.com/clients/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/29/Internal-Server-Error-HTTP-500.html

Thanks Andy

That page instructs me to add the code <httpErrors errorMode="Detailed" /> to my web.config file. I have already added that code and it does not show any error details, unfortunately.

It also suggests searching my Log files for 500 errors. I searched the logs but did not find any 500 errors.

I created a Support Ticket with Servelink this morning and am waiting for them to respond. I've also sent them a text message. Hopefully they will respond soon.

The 500 Error occurred immediately after running the Broken Image Link utility. Everything was working fine before I ran that. I recently had my Access database replaced with a SQL database. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the crash...?

The good people at Servelink were able to repair the issue.

I recently upgraded my Access database by switching to a SQL database. I was up to 10k products and my current db was running a little slow. Servelink instructed me to download the vsadmin/includes file from the server, as it had been updated on their end during the database upgrade.

When I applied the 7.0.4 updater this morning, one of the files that had been edited was the vsadmin/includes.asp. So I uploaded the new vsadmin/includes to my server, inadvertently overwriting the one that Servelink had edited when they performed by database switch. This is what caused the 500 error.

Just wanted to submit that information in case anyone reading was wondering...all is well. Thanks to Peter at Servelink!

Thanks for the help also Andy!
