Was not sure if everyone heard about this. It was just brought to my attention today. I very rarely do a refund, so this may be old news.

Will I get my transaction fee back?
Effective MAY 7, 2019

We’re changing how we treat refunds. If you refund (partially or fully) a transaction to a buyer or a donation to a donor, there are no fees to make the refund, but the fees you originally paid as the seller will not be returned to you.

wow... We always get fees back, with the exception of American Express payments.
I wonder if this is just paypal payments or payments made via Paypal payments pro (paypal direct) with a card.
It sounds like Paypal payments...

It's also somewhat vague with regards to personal accounts and business accounts.
Either way, it's just a money grab.

A few years ago, we changed from UPS to FEDEX as our main shipper. Mind you, we spend over 250k year in shipping with them. Well, after years of these type money grabs, I finally had it when the thermal label printer UPS "loaned" us went from .50 cents per week, to $1.00.
Now, here is how that worked. (I will set the stage for you...)

:::UPS HEADQUARTERS - EXECUTIVE BOARD ROOM:::
A group of senior UPS big shots are in a giant board room, and they have been working for weeks on ideas for their next money big grab...
One young executive announces that he has it!
A great idea and no one will even notice.
You know those millions of thermal printers we have on the streets, that we have been charging 50 cents a week? If we bump it to $1.00, no one will notice and we will rake in eleventy billion in extra profits this year...

The room grows quiet with suspense...
Suddenly the high up bosses smile, and everyone applauds
They all stand and WEEP....

In then end, I was not willing to accept the idea that UPS's costs on these printers suddenly grew 100%, so a FedEx rep happen to walk though my door and that was the end of it.
BTW - Fedex gave me a free printer...

I know like your post, this is a little off topic. Comcast used to provide a little decoder box for free to get local channels. It was nice when you had a spare TV you did not watch much. Then suddenly, they were $2.99 a month. Same board members.

One of the biggest money makers in history that no one really every noticed as the price did not go up was this word
Lather, Rinse, Repeat

If I recall correctly, shampoo sales increased 70% because of it.

Can't you go back to UPS now you have your own printer?

I get changed by Vodafone for the cable modem and it's really old now so there are newer models that support the new WiFi speeds and have better coverage but they don't want to change it. I can see an accident with a screwdriver coming on.

Trust me, it was really a lot more than the printer that was the issue.
Fast forward today, about a year ago, I gave fedex their loaned printer back because I found them on ebay for about $80.00 each, so I have about 5 of them now with three shipping stations setup. Each shipping station have it's own ability to generate shipping labels.

In recent years, I have just purchased my own modems instead of "renting" the one from the cable company too.
My wife and I just moved into a new house in December and I ordered a Voice/Internet modem online instead of using the cable companies. I didn't get the latest model, just a recent one for a lot less $$.
I think the modem pays for itself in about 10 months in my case.
