Indeed. There are lots of ways to point users, and sometimes things do not work as expected. One thing I struggle with is we are taught to avoid using "click here" and instead, just link your text. "Visit our contact page" instead of "click here to visit our contact page".
I always fear that some newer internet user may not fully understand that you can click there if you just have "Visit our contact page". In some areas, I am guilty of using "click here to visit our contact page", but I often just link the entire phrase rather than just the "click here" portion.
I also stay very consistent with active buttons on my entire site. If a user sees that you can click a button, then anywhere you see a similar styled button, you can bet it's an active button.
