The v7.1.7 updater is now available for ASP / PHP.
The following changes have been made...
Please note that you can upgrade from any previous version to the latest version in just one go! You don't have to install all updaters between your version and the current version.https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/updaters.aspA redesign and restructuring of the checkout flow.We have added new features like a cart resume on all pages so that your customers can check what they are buying right to the last page. There is a customer details resume on the final checkout page to calm those nagging doubts that the address was entered incorrectly. But also we have completely changed the underlying CSS that controls the page, making it more streamlined and ensuring that everything looks better, lines up beautifully and keeps doing so on all devices. The step number of each checkout step has also been added to the design.
In order to display the cart and customer details resume in the open state initially, use these parameters...
cartresumeopen=TRUE / $cartresumeopen=TRUE;
custdetailsresumeopen=TRUE / $custdetailsresumeopen=TRUE;
SquareUp Payment ProcessorThe SquareUp payment processor has been integrated giving you even more choice of payment options with some very competitive rates.
Better handling of Customer Details on checkoutWhen customers enter their customer details on checkout they will now be saved for the browser session. This means that customers can now switch freely between checkout steps. Also, if a logged in customer logs out, they can still view their cart contents and even checkout as a guest still if required.
View Order Lines on Admin Orders PageAs well as viewing the order status, email, tracking number, etc on the main admin orders listing, you can now also choose to view the admin order lines for a quick snapshot of what all the customers in your selection range have ordered. In the order details we have also added the weight to the order listing.
New class "ectbutton" for buttonsA new class has been added for all buttons on your site, ectbutton making it easier to provide a consistent theme for buttons throughout your site. A smart default style has been set for these buttons which you can override in the cart style sheet if required to match your site style.
To change the default button style, add the following to your site style sheet using your preferred background and text color. (You should not edit the ectcart.css file as that makes it harder to update in the future.)
input.ectbutton,button.ectbutton{
background:#006ABA;
color:#FFF;
}
Customer Security BlockingThere is now a system to guard against those attempting a Denial of Service attack on your website shopping cart. When enabled the cart will automatically block those attempting to add an extraordinarily large amount of items to their shopping basket. (This can be configured on the admin IP Blocking page.) Once blocked these people will be blocked from all cart pages.
Admin Dashboard StatsYou can now set the date range for top sales and top customers in the admin dashboard.
No ECT Account warnings on your websiteFrom now on there will be no warnings on your website if your ECT Account is not valid. From now on these message will only appear in your admin section.
Edit order date and timeWhen editing an order you can also edit the order date and time.
Social Media Buttons UpdateThe social media buttons layout has been updated to make it line up better. By default large buttons are displayed but you can display the smaller version with the parameter smallsocialbuttons=TRUE / $smallsocialbuttons=TRUE
Button layout problem in ChromeThere is a problem in Chrome that is causing the buttons in the admin pages to wrap. They acknowledge this problem and will fix it in a future release, but in the meantime we have a workaround.
Client login page improvementsIn the same way as the cart, the client login page has been revamped to make it layout better in a variety of different devices.
Admin User Locking RemovalThe system of locking admin accounts after a number of different attempts to log in has been removed. This seemed to cause more problems than it solved. Please do make sure you use a password of reasonable length, and do not use the defaults for the login OR the password.
Mailchimp First and Last NameThe first and last name of the mailing list subscriber is now sent to Mailchimp along with the signup details.
Lots and lots of bug fixes and improvementsJust too numerous to mention.
Security IssueA cross site scripting issue has been resolved in the cart. This was fixed in a Hotfix released December, 1 but is included in this release. This is an important issue to fix as using a specially crafted link, a hacker could get access to sensitive information such as your admin login cookies.
