I am almost ready to go live with our new website. We hve had other cart software in the past but are now going with your ecommerce webiste. The ladies at the order desk are a little nervous on how this will work.

Is there an instruction video for the order desk?
Do they have a seperate login to be able to access orders and customers? They will process all the orders on their local accounting system. So, the site will not be tracking inventory.
Will they just be recieving an email with the order info on it? If so, where do I set that email address up at?

The best thing would probably be to place a few test orders at your website.
You can enable "email" as a payment provider so you can place the test orders without entering a payment.
Although you might want to create a low cost test product (10 cents or so) and actually test making a payment.

Then open your admin and learn how to handle your orders there.

You should not rely on emails to gather the order details. You will want to go to your admin and process the orders there.
As you move orders through your store, typically you change the status to indicate what stage the order is at.
You can easily locate orders in the admin by selecting a status type and date range if needed.

Post back if you have questions about handling those orders.

If your staff will be entering orders for customers, you can do it on the front end of the website, or the admin.
Each way will have it's own benefits and drawbacks.

Thanks,
David

OK, but how can they be alerted to an order?

An email is sent to the email address defined in the admin's main settings. You can have more than one email by separating them with a comma.

As Marshall mentioned, the email will alert you of a new order.
But also, you should be checking the admin. Just select new order status and click search. All orders in new status will be shown.
Once you process them, you should move them to a different status. Typically, authorized.
