Hi,

The alt prod id is a clever way to stock manage different options

To complement this it would also be very useful to be able to simply change an options' prod id via a field (such as where the new class option sits).

I appreciate the current alt prod id setup is needed if you want multiple combined control of products of different sizes, colours etc. It works well but can be quite a complex method to use for lots of products.

However, we tend to list a product's options, for example like this: black small, black medium, black large, green small, green medium, green large etc so we don't need to use the current alt prod id method of creating dummy products to assign options to.

The advantage for us if this could be implemented would be as follows:

We use Shipstation which has comprehensive stock management control, including number of products, warehouse location, notification of low stock etc. We have 3 ect sites and amazon linked to it but for it to function properly it relies on a unique prod id for every item. It doesn't take options into account.

As many of our products are the same on the various sites, Shipstation can provide the stock control we need if it receives unique prod ids.

I imagine other shipping solutions have a similar setup.

This would be extremely useful - please let me know if this would be possible.

Many thanks,

Steve
