Hello,
My customer is asking to have the choice to pay with PayPal, Venmo, or PayPal Credit.

Which PayPal checkout should I use

Hi Paul
In order to choose to add PayPal Credit I think the PayPal Smart Buttons options would be best, and the most modern integration. But I think Venmo will be automatically added for Standard and Express where applicable anyway.

Hi Vince,
I'm using "PayPal Payments Standard" now and the "Venmo" doesn't show at checkout (see below).



I'll try the PayPal Smart Buttons option. Do I have to update any settings for the change?

Yes I have the venmo app on my phone. The picture above is what I and the customer get at checkout.

Am I missing a code or setting somewhere?

I've tried searching round the internet and I can't find anything definitive to say that Venmo is compatible with PayPal Standard. It seems that it should be, logically, as all the payment machinery is on PayPal's site and it's a PayPal product. But the thing is as I haven't got Venmo it's hard for me to test. Could you possibly ask PayPal what the deal is? Maybe it's an account setting.

Thanks for your help.

I've visited the PayPal website for help with the Venmo problem. I read all about Venmo but it says nothing about having a problem with it displaying at checkout as a payment option.

I called them and the support phones are closed due to the Covid-19. they only take email submissions.

I submitted a question via email and they say it will take 24hrs. or more before I get a answer. That SUCKS!

I'll let you know what they say.
