PayPal with Gift Certificate (zero balance)

wellsuited New Member 96 Posts	Posted - 06/15/2020 : 08:52:50 Hi, I have an issue with gift certificates, if the user has no balance due after using a gift certificate then PayPal returns an error. I am guessing this is because they will not take a charge for zero dollars. I am using PayPal Standard as the only payment method. How can I avoid this?

Vince Administrator 42874 Posts	Posted - 06/15/2020 : 12:03:45 Hi Wellsuited I tried here on the test store and, like I say, when the total after the gift certificate has been applied is zero then PayPal is bypassed and the "Email" payment object is used and it all seems to be ok. Have you tried this yourself with a test certificate? Is the cart up to date and unmodded?
