Is it possible to add a shipping surcharge or increase rates for Alaska, Hawaii and US protectorates?

I want to be able to ship to those places by faster mail service but cover the cost.

It seems like there is with zones but I'm not well versed in setting that up if it applies.

Hi Ken, what shipping do you have setup in the admin now?
Are you using USPS? If so, your website should quote the rate correctly for each service. Perhaps you just need to enable the faster service in the admin?

USPS by weight and UPS.

The issue is many will choose the USPS by weight and that doesn't leave funding for more than media mail across the board, CONUS and otherwise.

I need the ability to charge a slightly higher rate to cover the cost of Priority Mail going outside of CONUS.

Hi Ken, I'm not sure I follow. My website calculates USPS Priority mail (rates from USPS) correctly for all states, including Hawaii and Alaska.
When you say USPS by weight... does that mean you are using weight based shipping and have created your own pricing scheme, and not using rates from USPS?

Hi, in that case, in your "postal zones" under States Zone Rules you should have all states setup already, just add Alaska and Hawaii. You can setup the higher pricing there.
The in the admin, go under "Postal Zone" and edit the states (Alaska and Hawaii) and assign them that new state zone rule.
