Is there a way of increasing the order IF number to a higher number, e.g. starting at 50000 and not 500

If you have access to phpMyAdmin then yes, that's how I have done it in the past without issue.

Head in to phpmyadmin, expand the database for your ECT site then scroll down the left hand column to Orders. To the right is a list of all orders. Choose the last order, usually highest number in the list, click Edit on the far left and on the screen you will see under column the orderID & it's number to the very right. Only numbers can be in the field, alpha characters are not usable.

The next orders will follow the new numbering system.
