We just noticed an order that has a number of items that were discounted by 10% but I can't figure out why. All of our discounts require logins but this person was not logged in. I haven't checked all of the items yet but so far they are all from one category. That category has a 20% discount for logged-in customers. There's no mention of discounts on the invoice. Any ideas?

Is the product price just 10% lower, or is there an amount showing in the admin under discounts?

The item prices aren’t discounted. For example, there are a couple that are shown as $1.50 for both price and list but, on the invoice they’re showing as $1.35. Logged-in members get 10% automatically but this person was not logged in. There’s a separate 10% discount available on some items but you have to be logged in for that as well. The few items I checked SHOULD have been 20% off plus the member 10% off if the person was logged-in. Also not all items were discounted, just a handful.

I just tried your suggestion and it worked as it should with no discount so I guess it’s related to this specific order somehow?

Discounts do change from time to time. There is currently a 20% discount on that category. I did discover that the person who placed the order does have an account but he definitely didn't use it on this order. I found an account with the same email address but, in the current order, his name was written differently.

The best way to tell if he was logged in is check his account in the admin and see if the order in question is linked to the account. If it's not, there will be an option to link it to the account.
Thanks, David

I definitely wasn't logged in to his previous or any other account. I can see where I can add that order to his account but that doesn't shine any light on why any discounts were applied.

I agree with Vince there, but I was wondering per this thread ( https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=113403) Perhaps a test is needed to see what happens to the pricing when a logged in customer has a discount only applied to logged in customers, then logs out. As that thread suggests, the contents are still in the cart, but what has happened to the pricing. Do the discounts still apply? If so, then that may explain what happened. Customer shows up, logs in and loads cart with discounted pricing. Customer logs out (discounted pricing remains???). Customer comes back the next day, contents are still in the (logged out) cart, and completes checkout without logging in. Just an idea. Thanks, David
