Hi,

This is from one my clients using ecommerce templates:

"I have one problem with the stock messages.
Even though the Stock Management is set to "Don't use the stock management", clients are getting an email after they buy a product that the item was not in stock.
So, I am getting a lot of emails of angry costumers claiming that if the product is not on stock, why did they pay for it?
And the thing is, that the product is on stock. I have plenty.
On top of my work, I have to take more work to answer this messages.
And some of them are cancelling the orders.
There is no place in the admin area that I have selected 0 stock"

Me: I read somewhere in the forum, that it was good to switch on and off the stock management set.
I did it today, so I don't know yet if that will work.

Any light on this matter?

Gaby

Hi Gaby
Have you got a copy of the email they receive? That should help track down where the message is coming from.

Hi,

The email is coming from the email that is set on the admin area.
Where else is it going to come from?

Hi Gaby
I'm not really interested in the email address that the message is coming from, more the content of the email. If you could let me have a copy of that email it would help me to know what part of the code generated the email.

Hi,

It seems that it is a message they received on screen when they buy an item.

This is one of the everyday complains my customer receive:

"... after completing the transaction, a screen appeared stating that
the item is no longer available. My card was charged anyway. I tried
to call after the purchase to verify if I will or will not be
recieving the item with no success. If the item is in fact not
available, I would like to request that my card be refunded. Thank
you"

Hi Gaby
How about if you try a test transaction and when this screen appears saying the item is no longer available, take a screen shot and send that to me?

Hi Gaby
I got your email and had a look at the site and it seems the message you get is the one as if you had access the product detail page for a product that did not exist. With more testing I find that it's only if the thanks page has a query string parameter of "session_id" that this happens. For instance, if I access the URL...
thanks.php?session_id
...I get the problem but if I access the URL
thanks.php?session_i
...then I don't. Could you have a look in the .htaccess file to see if there is anything that could cause this?

Thanks Vince,

At the end, with your help, it was easy to solve but difficult to identify.

The solution was to switch off ModSecurity.

In case someone else has this problem:
This was creating problem with payment made using stripe, telling the client at the end, that there was no item on stock.
It was a problem with the session ID.
Thanks God is solved!

That's is!

Thanks a lot!
