After several failed attempts applying the 7.2 updater this thing this morning, we decided to revert to the backed up copy and try again with the updater after office hours.

Unfortunately, we now only have a home page and every action is throwing up a 500 - Internal Server Error.

1. We have tried to reset the database connection
2. We have asked our host to turn off friendly error messaging

Any suggestions?

Without knowing exactly what's wrong you might break something else in trying to fix it , so#2 probably is what you want, so you can see what the error actually consists of. The error will also be found in your site's IIS log file if you have access to that.

If you're comfortable editing code there's also this diy option: https://servelink.com/clients/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/29/Internal-Server-Error-HTTP-500.html It's just a bit more intricate, so take care with that.
