I use a Gmail address for my email. How do I set the site so emails go to me?

465 is not a TLS port, you should choose SSL for that one. Peter Professional ecommerce web hosting services Shared hosting Windows & Linux | Dedicated servers | Domains | SSL Ecommerce Templates specialists since 2003 https://servelink.com

I have tried your suggestion. I have gone to my security settings in google and turned on less secure access to my account.
Nothing has worked. Is there any way I can get more help???

If I need to add an email address that has richlind@debrasgarden.com or such to enable me to send emails from my store than lets make that happen. I just want to be able to send emails about orders, shipments, conformations, and more.

You don't need to choose any less secure settings, just note that port 465 that you chose uses SSL, not TLS, so set that accordingly. Beyond that. all you need is the google account name, the correct password and whatever their SMTP server name is (might be smtp.gmail.com, but you can check with them). That's all there is to it. It is still not working, is it possible that the problem is with the Contact page? I have not tried any other email functions on the site yet.

I'm pretty sure you're just using the wrong user name and password for the GMail account in question, can you double-check that, please. When I try to send from the contact page I get no email to my gmail address.

You still have the wrong password for your GMail account entered there, you need to fix that. Maybe reset the password at Google? I am using the correct password. I did not put it up on the forum for the world to see. I put in the password that works with signing into google and gmail. there it works.
Next???

Have you logged in to check your actual Gmail account? If so you may well see a message from Gmail asking you to allow an email client access.
I've had issues as recent as last week when setting up a Gmail account in a client like Thunderbird only to find Google have blocked that even though the credentials used are correct. Worth a shot !
Out of curiosity is there any reason you aren't using an email address on your websites domain?

Yes, that's also quite possible. The response we get from Google is "Username and Password not accepted" so I'd take that at face value initially, but there may well be other reasons internal to them for serving that up https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials Peter Professional ecommerce web hosting services Shared hosting Windows & Linux | Dedicated servers | Domains | SSL Ecommerce Templates specialists since 2003 https://servelink.com

I got "help" from Google support:
Alright, Debra. With regards to this, sometimes you’ll see a "Password incorrect" error when you sign in to Google with a third-party app, like Apple’s Mail app, Mozilla Thunderbird, or Microsoft Outlook. If you’ve entered your password correctly but you’re still getting the error, you might need to update the app or use a more secure app. If the app or the operating system on your device is out-of-date, you might not be able to connect it to your Google Account. Try updating the app or your device's operating system.

Typical big corporation response, completely irrelevant reply . Still showing "bad credentials" here, which you could be forgiven for thinking might be because of bad credentials. If you have two-factor authentication enabled on your Google account you could try this: 1. Go to your Google Account and choose Security on the left panel. 2. On the Signing in to Google tab, select App Passwords. 3. Click on Select app, pick "other" and give it a name. 4. Click on Generate. 5. Use the 16-character App Password shown in the yellow bar in the store admin, in place of your regular password. That works fine for me, set like it is here https://www.screencast.com/t/V2bla9bZsPeter Professional ecommerce web hosting services Shared hosting Windows & Linux | Dedicated servers | Domains | SSL Ecommerce Templates specialists since 2003 https://servelink.com

I have tried all versions of SSL, TLS, 587 and 465. None of them have worked.

It works fine using the example settings I provided earlier https://www.screencast.com/t/V2bla9bZs. Why not copy those? But please note that Google have been saying things along the lines of "user name and password not acccepted", so it isn't really a settings issue here, it's getting your Google account straightened out. Possibly using an App Password as I described yesterday. https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentialsPeter Professional ecommerce web hosting services Shared hosting Windows & Linux | Dedicated servers | Domains | SSL Ecommerce Templates specialists since 2003 https://servelink.com
