How to add a link to the thank you email?

The customer pays to gain access to the pages of a membership site. When they receive the "Thankyou For Your Order" email i would like to include in that email some text with a link to the login page. But if they buy a digital download product (for example) then i would not want to display that link. How can i do that? Abby

It is an email for a product. If the best that i can do is to add a link to the generic thank-you email that will be okay. Can you tell me which email to modify please? And do i add the link in the admin panel or in a backend file? If in the admin people then which email would i modify? Abby
