We were using Royal Mail which is 'shipping' and has no VAT.
We are now changing to a courier which is classed as 'Carriage' and should VAT added to it.
I have used the $taxShipping=1; to add tax as per the instructions but it doesn't add it as VAT. It has increased the shipping price of eg £7 + 20% tax = £8.40 but the £1.40 vat is not showing as being added to the VAT total at the checkout or on the invoice????
No that didn't fix it, that reduced the carriage charge back down to its pre vat price but it didn't add it on to the VAT, it actually reduced the VAT figure further??
Hi Trace, Sorry I'm a little confused here. So just to clarify, you add to cart and VAT is charged and displayed for the product but the VAT for the shipping cost is actually added to the shipping line?
For example where the shipping cost would be £5.00: Product - £10.00 Shipping - 6.00 VAT - £2.00 Total - £18.00
Hi Trace I think it's the $taxShipping parameter that you need to set to 2 as here... https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/parameters.asp#shipping
