Reading about the new Google Analytics 4 installation instructions, perhaps I can mention what some common Web Browser Privacy & Tracker Plug-ins are doing by default. Malwarebytes Browser Guardquote: Filters out annoying ads and scams while blocking trackers that spy on you. Download free for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari browsers.
Upon installation the default setting will block Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, StatCounter, Facebook and Twitter scripts. In my humble opinion that is over-the-top and choose to switch Tracker Blocking OFF. But then, many users may not even look at these settings, or actually choose to alter them (?) DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentialsquote: At the heart of DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials is our powerful tracker blocking technology, which automatically blocks hidden third-party trackers on the sites you visit.
Once again, Tracker Blocking can be switched OFF if desired.
Bottom line ... web developers can do nothing about this whatsoever. Your Visit and Sales counter reports will be (slightly?) understated as a result. Regards, Gary
