When we create a client login and assign a percentage discount, how do we exempt certain products and/or categories? Each product I want exempt we've selected the "Product Discount Exempt" under the exemptions field in the product modification pages but the percentage discount assigned still goes through.

If you give a client a percentage discount then this will apply to all products and sorry for the confusion there. If you want to lower the price of some items but not others I guess the way to go would be to give those clients the Wholesale Pricing attribute rather than a percentage discount. Then set the price for each product to whatever you like.
