Hi, A couple of days ago I updated from 7.38 to 7.47 and since then several customers have reported being unable to add items to cart or log in. I experienced this issue myself immediately after updating, but after reloading & refreshing the website in the browser it worked normally so I suspect it was due to a cached script. Is there any way to force the script to refresh as I suspect most customers would be unaware of how to resolve this issue.

Richard.

Hi Richard, I had the same issue too. The fix is clear cache.

Hi Richard
Most customers haven't been viewing your website so recently but if you like, just add a parameter to the ectcart script and css file. For instance...

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/css/ectcart.css?a=1"/>
<script src="/js/ectcart.js?a=1"></script>

Hi Vince for my own education what will that do?
Where should the script be placed? would it be overwritten by updaters?

Hi Michael
For instance the browser will think these are 3 different pages (at least with regards to caching)...
/css/ectcart.css
/css/ectcart.css?a=1
/css/ectcart.css?a=2
So if you've made a change to one of these files and want to ensure that everyone gets a brand new copy then just add (or change) a querystring value.

You add the ectcart files to the head section of your template so that's where it should go. If you use the incectstyle.asp/php include then it is automatically added and updated.
But normally it isn't an issue apart from site owners / admins as your customers aren't generally on the site every day.
