We have just upgraded to v7.4.8 and finding that the Add to Cart and Login buttons are not working in Firefox, Chrome & Samsung mobile. When you click the button, the colour changes but the pop-up menus do not appear. We previously tested the update in a test site and found that the pop-up menus took time to work however we updated our live site 12 hours ago and the pop-up menus are still not working. This is a major issue to our business as all orders are processed through the website.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Anne

Hi, a link to the site would be very helpful, but first, check to be sure you have updated the ectcart.css and ectcart.js files, and your pages are linked to them as outlined here - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=107040
Thanks, David

Thank you. Both css and js files were updated and there is no difference between the test and live files that I can see. Looking at the error logs just after I run the update there is a php fatal error 'Call to undefined function getaltlang() in inccart.php. Could this be affecting it? Again, both incfunction.php and incart.php are the same in both the live and test sites. The site is: www.barama.com.au

I just did some tests with Chrome and everything added to the cart just fine from both the product and product detail pages. Observation note: You should some margins or padding on either side of the <body> as the text is pushed right up to the edge.

Hi Anne Using Microsft Edge version 100.0.1185.29, I just tried adding two different items to the cart - PVC CLEAR BOX PACK - Piccolo & PVC CLEAR CAKE PACK - Tiny & all worked fine. Moved on to checkout & then tried adjusting the quatity of each item & on doing so I get the update button both times & all working as expected. The $ balances also noted as adjusting correctly. I also get exactly the same on FF 99.0 - no issues. Both on a Windows11 laptop from blustery old Manchester UK ![Sad](images/icon_smile_sad.svg) ----------------------------------- Steve Manchester UK Make it as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Thank you Marshall and Steve. That's reassuring, at least. We are still unable to add anything to cart or login using either Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge from our office nor remotely. I've tried clearing my cache and that hasn't helped. What differences would we be having between Australia and the USA and UK? Hopefully it's something that hasn't reset here yet???

Hi Anne Just before I depart for the land of nod, have you tried from a different location & have any customers reported this issue to you? Or is there only you who have noticed the issue? Also the login link top left & the login link centre of homepage both bring up the popup modal login. ----------------------------------- Steve Manchester UK Make it as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Sorry, I appreciate everyone's help after hours!
Yes, our office is having problems and I work remotely (country). Our customers in other states have also had issues.

Our login link should only be seen on the top left, we don't have a link in the centre of the homepage. I'm not sure what you are able to view.

No problem of after hours, I'm nocturnal ![Big Smile](images/icon_smile_big.svg) That does seem to be possibly a country issue, what, I do not know. I wouldn't at this stage look at changing anything website wise as both Marshall in the US & I haven't experienced an issue. I know that Gary (ITZAP) is based in Australia & if he does see this may be he could try from his location just out of curiosity. quote: Our login link should only be seen on the top left, we don't have a link in the centre of the homepage. Thanks Patrick. We are also using Windows 10 (with one user on Windows 7) and all having issues. Although Steve wasn't having any issues adding product to the cart on Microsoft Edge 100.1185.29 and FF 99.0 but using Windows 11.

When I open Developer tools in Chrome and look under Console I'm getting the following error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: usehardaddtocart is not defined at subformid (ectcart.js:67:2) at HTMLButtonElement.onclick
Under Source, the browser is telling me that the version of ectcart.js was: * Last Modified: 2020-02-14 which is our eariler version (v7.3.8) we have just updated from. The function subformid line # also corresponds with 67 in this earlier version. However I have uploaded the lastest version of ectcart.js and if I double check the version date on our web server it confirms that the lastest version of ectcart.js (* Last Modified: 2022-02-25) has been uploaded to the server.
Our office staff, using different browsers and in a different location to myself, are also having this problem. We have also had customers ringing to complain.
Is there a way to I force the browser(s) to reload ectcart.js? I have cleared my cache and used ctrl F5.
Apologies for this simple question but I am at a loss to know how to fix it.
Thanks
Anne

Hi Anne quote: Uncaught ReferenceError: usehardaddtocart is not defined at subformid (ectcart.js:67:2)
This error would suggest that the ectcart.js was out of date but I've checked it and it is the correct version. So I think you've already come to the conclusion that this is caching that is causing the issue. The first thing is that you are much more likely to experience this than your customers as you are on the site every day. But there is a way to correct this as that is to add a "querystring" parameter to the ectcart files. For instance... <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/css/ectcart.css?ver=748"/> <script src="/js/ectcart.js?ver=748"></script> This would mean changing all your site files however that reference the ectcart files. Brilliant, thank you Vince!! This has worked.
I am assuming that when we do the next update we will need to change the ver=748 to the current version.
