Is there any way to remove the In stock from product/detail page. I need to use stock management for requested updates for businesses. Cart is not essential RIGHT NOW. I have repurposed most cart features/options.

I am currently using the template as a small business directory and will graduate it foe e - vouchers for sale and ad listings.

You can set the elements that are displayed / not displayed on the product detail page with the $detailpagelayout parameter. Have you got that set in your includes.php file? If so just remove the "instock" element from the list. If you then this may be a good starting point and you can remove the elements that you don't want...
